Spotlight: Faces of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Time & Place
About The Event
Seeing a sick child is heartbreaking. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats life-threatening diseases in children. When it comes to childhood cancer, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% when the hospital opened in 1962 to more than 80% today. No child is denied treatment based on race, or religion and families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food- because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Hear from two local patients of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and their families as they discuss their journey from being sick to getting treatment, to life after treatment. Our speakers include a young patient of St Jude as well as a former patient who has graduated college and is applying to medical school in hopes of returning to St. Jude as a doctor.
