YP Impact Board Members, Jon Armstrong & Shelly Bertholf, Collect Donations for the Hunger Task Force

On Saturday, March 13th, two members of our board of directors, Jon Armstrong (Chair) and Shelly Bertholf (Volunteer Events Committee Chair) volunteered for the Hunger Task Force by participating in the city’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.  Throughout the parade route, Jon and Shelly, with the assistance of other volunteers, collected monetary and food donations for the Hunger Task Force, which resulted in a total of $1,540.54 in cash and over 1,000 pounds of food! 
 
“It was exciting to be a part of this activity,” said Shelly.  “You never realize how much people want to contribute until you see them running after you in a parade with $10 in their hand.  One individual, very casually, gave us a $100 donation and it was encouraging to see someone offer that much money to such a worthy cause.”
